Our Vision: To provide critical
thought and edgy reporting for the local Milwaukee market. We'll hit
subjects that other media outlets fear to tackle but we'll always be
honest.
Our columnists are patriots and
experienced journalists with no qualms about calling out crooks and
political shills or lauding those few who are doing the right thing.
Expect a lot from us in the coming years.
You won't be disappointed.
If there's a story you would like
covered, drop us a note. We're happy to explore or investigate
issues of local or state state importance.

As you can see, several of us wear
several different hats. Some of us have been reporters for
various newspapers and one is an award winning investigative
reporter. We've got a local artist and even an expert in local
public policy.

John-David Morgan
Editor, Reporter and Columnist |
WatchdogMilwaukee.com Editor John-david Morgan covered police, courts, schools and politics under five different editorial regimes at Milwaukee’s newsweekly Shepherd Express, 1994-2000. He also spent a year writing for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. While developing a reputation for hard-hitting journalism, he began intensive studies on criminal justice policy, publishing a 519-case study on Milwaukee drug court sentencing trends in 2000. He continued to break new ground in government reporting for local publications through 2001, leading to the founding of
ThePRESS, Milwaukee’s News and Arts Monthly. After three years running
ThePRESS, Morgan co-founded WatchdogMilwaukee.com, to bring dedicated focus to progressive news and politics in Southeastern Wisconsin. Currently a Milwaukee-based freelance writer, Morgan is a native of Connecticut by way of Kenosha and Racine, and served as a congressional intern in D.C. before attending UW-Milwaukee in the 1980’s & traveling for a few years in the deep South.
